Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a progressive neurological disorder that can lead to increasing debilitation and paralysis. Several types of MS have been defined. The most common is relapsing-remitting MS, followed by the secondary-progressive, primary-progressive and progressive-relapsing forms. MS treatment focuses on alleviating symptoms and slowing progression of the disease.
